Please Help! Stängl Zillertalbahn Coach BD4 49

Hello everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone knew where I could find the Stängl H0e/ HOe BD4 49 Zillertalbahn coach. I have been looking everywhere for it, asking loads of sellers on ebay, but with no luck. I am also trying to find Liliput H0e/ HOe Finkenberg.

Can anyone point me in the correct direction? I am desperate to find these items!

Many thanks

Pete

If you're a member of the 009 Society then you could try contacting the members sales officer. He carries a MASSIVE stock of both HOe and 009 stock.

Failing that the Society trade stand will be at ExpoNG in Swanley later this month. If you were to email Brian he would be able to take one for you if there's one in his supplies, or alternatively you can submit a 'want' to him for him to contact you when one comes up.

Hi guys!

Many thanks for your replies and many apologies for my late response. I am still looking for Zillertalbahn BD4 49 from Staengl but have successfully been able to collect the following models:

AB1 - Ramsau/Hippach (Liliput)

AB2 - Uderns (Liliput)

AB3 - Finkenberg (Liliput)

B12 - Ried (Liliput)

B13 - Mayrhofen (Liliput)

B15 - Jenbach (Liliput)

B18 - Fügen (Liliput)

B19 - Kaltenbach/Stumm (MSE Modellbahnen)

B20 - Aschau (Liliput)

B23 - Schlitters (Liliput)

B24 - Strass (Liliput)

B25 - Tux (Liliput) - (Liliput seem to have labelled Tux as B26 which probably needs changing?)

B26 - No badge (Liliput)

B27 - Gerlos (Liliput)

B28 - Zell/Ziller Buffetwagen (Liliput)

B29 - Beer Wagon

B30 - 4 axle bogie coach (Liliput)

B31 - 4 axle bogie coach (Liliput) - (Just another B30 but it needs to be re-badged!)

Ba 46 - Sommerwagen open coach (Liliput)

B4 47 - Kristallwagen (Both Staengl and Liliput versions - The Staengl version is a lot more like the real thing!)

Can anyone shed any light on where I can get BD4 49? I have included a picture in this post. I am desperate! My only alternative is to repaint a BD4iph Roco model. Please help!!

Blimey, you have been busy collecting the enitre set!

I have a fair pile of the "nostalgie dampf zug", but at the moment I'm waiting for the new D15 + middle coach and driving trailer to arrive!

Of course this isn't helping you, but I honestly can't recall ever having even seen that model anywhere second hand. It must have had a very small run...

I have a set of 4 pre-Bachmann Lilliput coaches from the Mariazeller and it includes one just like that, minus the big pictograms and in dark brown, so I don't doubt they exist (I'm sure the only reason Bachmann is producing the D15 is that the Pinzgauer has just bought one too).

The only thing I can reccomend is that you try to seek out auction sites in Germany/Austria/Switzerland for it. Maybe there is a sister club of the 009 Society in one of those countries, that can help you out?

Problems you might encounter with this are:

1. Most people on the continent do not have a credit card and Paypal is not very common

2. Cheque? What's that? Is also a common response.....

3. If you need to pay for something, you should be able to transfer it by getting an IBAN number, as far as I'm aware your bank should not charge you. But as we're not in the Euro this may not apply... The reason for not being charged is that "it should cost the same to transfer money within Europe as it will cost domestically"

On the whole good luck! Having just plugged the 009 society, I suppose I should actually join as I'm building an Austrian HOe layout!

Hello Friso!

Many thanks for the information and response that you have given. I also think that there was a very small run of them. It actually seems evident from what Josef Staengl has said in emails and various posts online. I am signed up to numerous forums which have been great help for many things, but not for finding BD4 49.

I think I'm going to have to take an existing BD4iph Roco Coach, repaint and modify it.

All the best :-)

Hi Pete,

One other item I've found on my searches is Liliput 793 20. This is a closed van (Gwk/s) with a Liliput logo on both sides and the text "40 Jahre Liliput" on it. A google search turned one up at www.specialistauctions.com, which is a new site (at least for me) but looks like it has some interesrting stuff...

The wagon makes a colourful addition to the layout as most of my other stock is either ZB reddish brown, Mariazeller dark brown or DR dark green!

About the only other colourful train that I have right now is a 2095 in red/cream with two jaffa coaches and a blue bicycle wagon.

If you are going to run a full length "nostalgie zug", then you really should also get the F52 generator van. I think that supplies the power on those trains. My current rake has that in it, the barrel wagon and six others. I can't make it any longer, as I've run out of platform!

To drag it along there is the Uh 5, but I'm waiting for U 2 to come out, as the old Uh 5 doesn't seem to ride very well it keeps stopping. A new version is in the brochure for 2011, so I guess that will turn up around the same time as the olympics...

The new versions also have six-pin decoder sockets, which is nice as can then convert them to DCC myself instead of having to send them away.

And before I forget, keep an eye on Ferro Train? http://www.ferro-train.com/

They don't seem to have the one your after, but I've e-mailed them in the past, and they are very friendly so might have an idea on where to find one.

Cheers,

Friso

Hi Friso!

Many thanks for your reply! I've sent an email to Ferro-Train asking whether they know of anything. I've also been talking to Josef Staengl and some of his friends to see if I can get hold of one. At the minute, there's no obvious solution. I think the back up plan is to take a BD4 Roco Coach, strip it, repaint it and add some transfers. I'm also trying to get a built model of No.3 and No.4 - I know of someone who's been making some fantastic models like them!

Any other ideas on where to find this Staengl item?

All the best.

Pete :-)
