wollastonblue
I have got the conductor chairs all weathered, and now need to start installing them in preparation for the the 3rd rail. Before I start that process I just need to confirm my 3rd Rail is going in the right place. Where I think they should go are the red lines. Am I right? KevinWalsh
Hi there, They look to be in the right place to me. For an idea of placing 3rd rail have a look at NETHERHALL and FLETCHING's pics in October 2010 Model Rail, also some pics on the club website www.uckfieldmrc.co.uk Kev
10800
Looks generally OK, but have a look at this (useful 3rd rail turnout arrangements near the end). Also a good idea to have a look at the real thing, even if just photos. You might need some side exit ramps if you're going the whole hog. As an aside, is the upper (short) electrified road a passenger bay or a siding? If the latter you should have a trap point (and also one in the line coming off the engine shed). hth
wollastonblue
Thanks for all the help. The Upper short electrified line is a bay platform. 2EPB will be going in there eventually. I realised about catch points after I had ballasted the track. However I will say in my defence, the yard is uphill toward the mainline.
