RMweb Premium Hippo Posted November 5, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 5, 2010 Hadn't seen this mentioned yet............. My favourite narrow gauge railway, the Leighton Buzzard 2ft gauge railway, has got the go ahead for its new museum and station building at Pages park. All they need to do now is raise the money to build it. Its good news as they have something like 50 loco's there if you include all the lister/simplex etc, most of which are hidden away. Cheers Owen p.s. link to the LBR website news
RMweb Premium Lambton58 Posted November 7, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 7, 2010 Good news indeed. This is my local preserved line and in many ways an undiscovered gem. It will be interesting to see how it develops now. Ralph Lambton58
PGN
Oh wow - that sounds great. I remember walking the tracks in the late 70s, when we used to visit a fair bit to see relatives who lived at Billington and my father's Best Man, who was Mayor of Leighton Buzzard for a while (but not, as I recall, until the 80s). It was my first encounter with preverved railways ... and I shall always be very fond of that little line. I may even have a few photos of it ...
