ianwales
Hi all There was an article in a magazine called Modelling Railways Illustarted a few years ago on Airbraked Scrap wagons, mainly the HSA's, but there was a little bit about a couple of box wagons similar to MEA's but TOPS coded SJA with a door in the side and with a ladder at either end. If anyone still has the article could I ask for a bit of info from it, I believe they were painted flame red livery, what were the wagon numbers and there was a small drawing which gave the dimensions of the side door? corax67
There is a picture of an SJA on Gareth Bayer's excellent site (http://www.garethbayer.co.uk/wotw/displayimage.php?album=404&pos=0) but it is an internal British Steel unit so not in flame red - the door shows well as sitting between 2 of the vertical ribs so you may be able to scale off measurements from this pic. 4mm scale plans are available for the SJA from the excellent PDH Drawings website if you are desperate to have the measurements exact (http://www.pdhdrawings.co.uk/shop/page/9?shop_param=). Hope this is of some help.
