k9-70
Can anyone advise if this bogie van/CCT manf; by Lima is based on an actual BR prototype? The data panel reads; Length: 42'-0" Width: 9'-0" Height: 13'-0" tare: 14-0t Load: 8tons evenly distributed Running No. M37926 The closest vehcile I can find is the GW Monster Van on Paul Bartlett BR Wagons site http://gallery6801.fotopic.net/p8401427.html
Baby Deltic
Its based on the LMS 42' CCT. The MK1 bogies on the Lima version are incorrect, but can be replaced with Bachmann Stanier bogies.
RMweb Gold 46444 Posted November 7, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 7, 2010 It's not actually a bad model other than the bogies which as Baby Deltic says can be changed for Bachmann ones. I've seen a really excellent model of this CCT with a plethora of MJT parts and a new paint job. Perhaps Coach has some information on the real thing, or I'm guessing modelled one too! Jamie
I've a pair of these awaiting attention. Hence I can give you this link to a prototype shot: from my early look around the 'net.
k9-70
Thanks for the replies, guys. Mystery van now solved. The bogies fitted to the van are from a Mainline Mk1 coach fitted with Hornby axels from a Mk2 coach. K9-
