RMweb Gold RedgateModels Posted November 11, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 11, 2010 As the title really, does anyone out there do nice OO cast brass (ideally) cylinder drains for BR standard cylinders, they are a pretty distinctive arrangement and differ greatly from the LMS style etc - like this: Failing that, anyone got a current spec Hornby Brit or Clan set spare???? Horsetan
I thought packs of BR standard castings (tailored to the particular class you want) were available from Alan Gibson and Comet (John Brighton's castings)?
RMweb Gold RedgateModels Posted November 11, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 11, 2010 erm, not sure, not found anything on Comet's website, but maybe I've missed something.
craigwelsh
I thought packs of BR standard castings (tailored to the particular class you want) were available from Alan Gibson and Comet (John Brighton's castings)? The pictures of these packs on the Comet website don't seem to show drain cocks just the undercab pipework and body detailing.
artisan100
Sorry, no cylinder draincocks in our (ex John Brighton) Loco Detailing packs. Geoff

Poor Old Bruce
Presumably those for a 'Standard Five' will be similar.
RMweb Gold RedgateModels Posted November 11, 2010 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 11, 2010 yep, just done a "Bing" image search and the first hit is a flickr image of the cylinders with excactly what I'm after If I can't get anything better, I'll follow Cmets recommendations and use some short handrail knobs (or split pins) and wire to make up an approximation .... I think I've just sussed what you were getting at, having checked the detailing pack on my Bachmann 73xxx reveals a nice set of drain cocks. Now, do I fire off an email to Barwell?
