Then researching mining around Nanaimo... Oh dear :D Paul - apologies for the thread derail, and still look forward to see what you come up with. Will I am afraid this thread is having an effect on me. With one large unfinished layout and another reddy for exhibition, I do not need distractions. BUT, I was searching for the same info a on minimum radius couple of days ago, and I have found myself looking at 0n30 Shay's and logging rail roads, but I must resist the temptation.
