The Mc
Does anybody know of any model shops anywhere in the country that has a good stock of secondhand Liliput and Roco HOe rolling stock, in particular locos? When I get down to London I find Janes trains and Norwood Jn models very useful for OO stuff but a few steam HOe steam locos would be useful to have...... RMweb Premium zarniwhoop Posted November 26, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 26, 2010 I doubt any shop in this country has a *good* stock of secondhand stuff - finding a shop with a *fair* stock of *new* HOe is hard enough! Apart from Brian's stall at the 009 society (not a shop), you might be lucky at Model World in Oxford (no website, but a real shop, directory listing at http://www.modelr.co...ord_ltd__oxford ). Or perhaps Contikits http://www.contikits.com although since he seems to only deal on the phone, perhaps not strictly a shop. ĸen

The Mc
Thanks all for replying........having just looked at the contikits website for HOe items looks very interesting and quite competitive prices. Yes, I thought secondhand HOE would be hard to find. I live in Selby and my nearest stockist is Frizinghall Models in Bradford, about an hour away on the train. I wasn't aware on NGRM online, so thank you for that. Looks a great site for some inspiration so will sign up!

Brian operates a 'wants' service where you can lodge a request for something with him and he'll keep an eye out for it if one comes his way. Joining NGRM is also a great idea if you're interested in this sort of things, you won't regret it. Unfortunately, in my opinion, NG modellers have become rather segregated from the rest of the forum in the last major forum update on here. NGRM is a great antidote
AllScales
The German (and Austrian) railway society is also a good place to ask. They sometime have some real gems!
AllScales
The German (and Austrian) railway society is also a good place to ask. They sometime have some real gems! Not wrong there! I got a near mint set of 4 Mariazeller coaches from their stand in a box set (Liliput). On the whole though ebay is your best source for HOe. I know you never quite know what you're going to get, but my experience on the whole has been very positive. I was at Eurospoor back in October and out of all the stands there were only two that had any kind of narrow gauge on sale. Both of those were specilaists. You'd expect to be able to find almost anything there, but it was a bit disappointing. Most of the stands sold the same old stuff at the same old prices.
