Guest baldrick25
An image of my nearing-completion , scratchbuilt 60's/70's brake tender based on diagram 557, of which only two were built originally, DB964029 and DB964030. They were fitted with 8'6" bogies rather than the common version of the brake tender which had 9'0" bogies. As its intended to be 'pushed' rather than pulled by a loco , there is only a coupling on the far end and it is filled with kiln-dried sand + PVA mixture for some weighting (weighs 85gms now).. Scratchbuilt entirely from Plasticard except for the curved top , which is a section from a Lima class 117 DMU coach which was scrapped. Here its being pushed around by a Bachmann peak D95 with split headcodes (32-679). A few bits to do , like add a couple 'obstruction deflectors' on the front bogie , and a couple of lamps. It isn't going to be weathered as per the prototypes, of rust and dirt though. Now off to finish some other projects.
