Flood Posted December 9, 2010 Share Posted December 9, 2010 I suppose that the answer strictly speaking is yes - you could backdate a 37/7 but the work involved would be immense. Replacing the grilles either side of the nose, possibly having to add headcode boxes, possible need for a boiler exhaust, adding the valance around the buffers... Seriously, it would be easier to sell the 37/7 and buy another model. The 33/2 on the other hand should be ok. Mind you, I don't recall the 33/2s straying off the Southern very much until the late 1980s. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
SRman Posted December 10, 2010 Share Posted December 10, 2010 I'd go one further than that, Flood, and I'd say that 33/2s did not stray far from the Hastings line and South Eastern Division lines until after the 1986 Hastings line electrification and tunnel single-tracking scheme was opened for traffic.
