alcoRS1
2010 HAS SUDDENLY BECOME VERY EXPENSIVE FOR CN MODELLERS IN HO AND N FOLLOW THE LINK http://irailway.qwestoffice.net/ Intermountain are expensive to begin with, I never pay list price, most LHS discount the price. However the cost of this hobby has been going up.

Dudley Dodger
seventyish pounds is about right for a big engine, though the digital sound's a bit much.

Yeah, seems like a reasonable price to me, like you say the sound is quite a lot more but that seems to be the case oftenanyway
alcoRS1
the price with sound is not bad either, it does include a Soundtraxx Tsunami, My guess I should see this at the LHS around $200, and online about $
Guest CPRAIL3000
I personally don't think the price per unit is excessive but CN modellers am sure will be tempted with more than one!!
Adrian Wintle
Price per unit is fine, but in N you need 4-5 of these things... plus another $35+ a unit for decoders. Add to that the CN and VIA FP9A/F7Bs due shortly in N, and CN modelling can take a big chunk of cash in a short time. The HO price with a sound decoder looks reasonable - the differential from the non-sound price is less than the street cost of a Tsunami.
