G-Mac
El TranvÃa de Naranja (The Orange Tramway) The layout is set in Spanish countryside nestled in between the hills. It was built to serve the vast orange groves and the small villages that have built up along the route. Having built Carronvale I was looking for a small project, something completely different from my usual modern image British scene. Only the scenic section exists at the moment. It is built inside an old small drink presentation box which was lying around. The front opening has a sliding cover which is slid off to reveal the layout inside and slid back on for storage purposes. The track is 9mm N gauge streamline with sleepers removed and the points are N gauge set-track, given some rust and weathering they look not too bad. The scale will be approx 009. A small looped fiddle yard is planned to be built onto it at some stage so that a continuous run can be achieved. The scenic section is 50cm long and 15 cm deep. There is a small engine shed, station halt with station building and a small goods depot. There are two greenhouses nestled inside the loop. Rolling stock and locomotives are to be scratch built. Trains will consist of a passenger service stopping at the station, a small goods train to the goods depot and frequent passing freight trains laden with oranges from the orange groves There is still quite alot of greenery to be added including a few big trees. Any questions are welcomed. Cheers, Greig
G-Mac
I have been having a go a building two little locos for the layout. They are not based on any prototypes. This is my 1st ever attempt at building a loco from scratch and once they get a final paint and some small details such as grills, bells, horns I hope they will turn out OK. Here are a few pics of the basic bodies so far. Cheers, Greig

G-Mac
Thanks for the positive comments. Thought I would post a couple of photos giving a perspective of the size of the layout. On top of layout is a standard size keyboard. The scenic section is just 50cm long and 15 cm deep. Cheers, Greig
