Guest baldrick25
Just been into a well known modelshop and whilst browsing around heard the 'trader' saying , in a conversation that perhaps I shouldn't have heard , that the trade price of Hornby items had risen by 20% or more on products that are due for delivery from next week onwards. The Hornby L1 , now on sale at under £70 would be in future £90-ish once the existing stock had gone. Much the same with Pullman coaches , currently £35-ish- will be in a few weeks £43-ish. He was slightly out with his VAT rise calculations, as many are, estimating that the VAT increase on a £275 DCC system, would be £7 ( less than £5 I quickly worked out- maybe I'm wrong) so maybe there was an element of 'wishful thinking' in the prce increases. Is my dosh going to be spread even more thinly in a few weeks?
