benjy83 Posted January 6, 2011 Share Posted January 6, 2011 Hi All, I'm thinking of building a signal box for my layout, as most of the boxes out on the kit market aren't really appropriate to my area of interest. I'm just a bit unsure of the rusticated boarding, as I've studied a few books I have, and the one plan with the boarding size on it is a bit fuzzy and unclear. Would the boarding width be 1¼", as that's what it appears to read on the plan I have. I would be modelling in OO, so what would be the best embossed plastic sheet to use for the outer wall covering. I was thinking of Slaters 4mm Spaced Planking, but I'm not 100%! Knowing the boarding width will also help me work out the correct height of my box, as I have a photo for reference. It would be a R&SCo Lancashire and Yorkshire Type 4 (25 lever) box that I would be looking to build, if that's also any help to anyone.
