shipbadger
Hi all, Maybe I'm a bit slow but I've just been browsing Hattons new releases page when because the Base Toys Bulwark and Pickfords tankers were side by side I realised that Base Toys have two versions of the Albion cab. The first has a smaller radiator and a straight line to the cabside windows, the second a bigger radiator and windows that dip toward the front scuttle. Would I be correct in assuming that the first probably covers late 30s to early 50's and the later early 50's to the era of the 'mouth organ' cab variation? The second cab also somehow looks rather less toy-like methinks. Tony Comber
DVLR Dave
I would have thought that both represent post-war CX7s, the cabs appear larger and wider than pre-war ones....
DVLR Dave
A little bit more information......the maroon Bulwark tanker is based on a surviving example which was new in 1948. The Tate and Lyle example would seem to date from the mid 1950s
