Swissrail
Hi I'm looking for assistance on an item that was published by a chap named P L Shaw in the Model Railway News of, I think, May, June and July 1963. It was a very comprehensive article on the scratchbuilding of BR electrification equipment in 4mm scale and the stuff this man produced was the best I've ever seen. Its quality has only really been approached recently by people like Jim Smith-Wright. One of the parts of this article had a formula for the calculation of the number of droppers and sag in any given span of catenary, in both its simple and compound forms. This was accompanied by a table of span lengths and other details. It's this formula and tables that I would like to get my hands on. I used to have this piece in its entirety but it must have gotten lost in my last house move as I cannot now find it anywhere. Anyone who can help me with this will have my undying thanks!
