Earl Bathurst
Hi Want to put platforms on a slight curve. Which is the best way to work out the curve for the platform? Thanks
Guest stuartp
Platform outside curve - Using masking tape or blutack stick a pen to one corner of your longest vehicle (or the vehicle with the longest overhang) so that the pen points vertically downwards with the nib touching the baseboard top, i.e. the bit of the vehicle which is at risk of clouting the platform edge, and push it round the curve so it draws a line on the baseboard. This then gives you the limit beyond which your platform must not encroach, plus a bit of leeway equivalent to half the thickness of the pen. Platform inside curve - same but stick it to the side of the vehicle halfway down, equidistant between the bogies. Felt tips work best.
