bob hughes60
Can anybody with a knowledge of 45XX diesels e.g. D70 tell me the diameter of the buffers or the size of the split headcodes or front windows? I then need to use this to get the size of a platform building construction the diesel is next to as building has long gone.? Many thanks
Poor Old Bruce
If it is any help, usual buffer centre spacings are 5ft 8.5in.
Baby Deltic
IIRC class 45's have 18" diameter buffers, so you could use that to scale things.

Many thanks You could get a reasonable idea of the building footprint from large scale Ordnance Survey Maps held by the local County Record Office or Local Studies Library.
