Jinty Jon
Well it's finally getting somewhere. After completing the majority of the baseboard for our new large layout in the summer, work has finally commenced on trackwork. My Dad and I started the layout back in June and from the pictures it is a major work in progress! The layout is in our garage and stretches 16ft with a width of 2ft and an 8ft by 2ft fiddle yard with a 2 track run round (yet to be built). The layout is set in 00 gauge and will feature modern day stock plus the occasional steam or vintage diesel special. The layout is controlled by 'MERG' DCC computer technology. The points, signals and loco controlling power will all be placed onto a laptop computer where trains can be controlled from, as well as the setting of certain points and therefore signals, all from the click of a mouse. A track plan will follow shortly. Enjoy the pictures. This post will be updated regularly with updated information on the layout's progress.
