I had been for an interview to join the Merchant Navy (Manchester Liners) aboard the m.v Akaroa in KG5 dock. The Seamens' Mission was virtually right outside the station. I was offered the job, but only managed one GCE, so it fell through. Because of the DLR?? I can still see the third rail insulators on the ground.
