relaxinghobby
I have a spare Hornby GWR 0-4-2 14xx tank chassis, it has the correct wheel base and maybe even a small enough motor to fit into the body of a 19th Century Beyer Peacock standard saddle tank. The sort that was bought by railways all over the world. This is a cheapo project, by re-wheeling a Hornby GWR 0-4-2 tank chassis that I already have and using Hornby Terrier wheels that are 16mm but have thinner axials than the 0-4-2 I can produce a small enough chassis to suit the prototype. The cogs fit but it will need the axial holes bushed from 1/8th inch to 3/32nd inch. Where can I get such beasts? I have bushes that are 1/8th inch outside diameter with 2mm holes bored in them, too small.
