Gaugemaster P and Hand Held?

Hello,

 

I have a Gaugemaster P controller (single track with inertia). Is it possible to run a HH controller from the 16vAC output on the back of this unit to control a second track? Thanks for your time.

Assuming its similar to the 100m then the answer is "Yes" as I have done it. If you buy a Gaugemaster HH unit and their din plug then the HH unit has a wiring diagram for the din plug. You then connect the +/- ive terminals marked track 2 on the back of the P to your track.

There's no DIN plug, there's just track 1, DC outputs, AC outputs, and a spare.

I got a reply from Gaugemaster and it seems you can do this, as long as the HH is of recent manufacture (3-5 years old).

If you check the specifications for this controller on the Gaugemaster website, you will find that it is not suitable for a second controller when common return wiring is used. In other words you will have to be careful that there is no link between the outputs of each controller.

Thanks Bill, I've seen that several times and not been sure what 'common return' means. I'll make sure the circuits are always kept separate. Thanks again
