Hi, does anybody know of any NSE liveried CK's that was fitted with B4 (MK2 coach) bogies, if so do you have any running numbers. Also in relation to this query does anybody know of any websites where I can find out information on coaches and such little details as running numbers and various bogie fitments.

There used to be some great fototopic sites but as we know they seem to have disappeared now, I am trying to vary my fleet of Bachmann coaches, with different bogies and running numbers.

Thanking you in advance

Craig.

I've had a look in my Platform 5 books for 1985 to 1988 and the only CKs with B4 bogies were 7117, 7119, 7120, 7121, 7122, 7124, 7125, 7128, 7129, 7131 and 7132. None of these were allocated to Old Oak Common and all had been withdrawn by the summer of 1987 and I don't think any got NSE livery.

7158 and 7213 got NSE livery but these had Commonwealth bogies (and were based at Euston). Old Oak Common used Mk2a FK stock in their Oxford local sets. About 15 of these coaches were converted to vacuum brakes between 1976 and 1977 and Old Oak Common had nine of them.

I've kept all my old spotting books from the 1980s but Platform 5 Coaching Stock Pocket Books are still easily available on ebay and second-hand sites/bookshops.

Very cheeky! ;)

Right then by 1988 you had 35192, 35193, 35196 and 35200 in NSE with B4 bogies. 32329, 35339, 35447, 35452, 35464, 35471, 35474 and 35475 were in NSE but with Commonwealth bogies and revised roof vent positions. They were all at Euston except 35196, 35471, 35474 and 35474 (Old Oak Common).

Further to my previous post the stock had changed by 1992.

Old Oak Common had 13 CKs in NSE but they all had Commonwealth bogies. They also had nine BSKs in NSE. 35290 (B4, revised vent positions) plus 35309, 35317, 35329, 35447, 35452, 35455, 35474 and 35475 (Commonwealth bogies, revised roof vent positions).

Please don't ask me which ones were light NSE or dark NSE or if any of the light NSE stock had the numbers to the left end of the coach instead of the right, I really don't know! I once made a complete list of the Mk2 stock running on Wat-Exe in 1987 with all the livery variations. That was difficult enough and that was in the early 1990s, finding that detail now would be virtually impossible.

Just in case you are as sad as me here's a couple of pointers:

First off, 35290 with B4 bogies but the revised roof vent positions. I know it's in blue and grey but it was repainted during 1988. http://www.railscans.co.uk/picture/_c48_26m.jpg

My sheet of revised vent positions just in case you want to alter any SKs, CKs, BSKs or BCKs.

I too recorded all the variants i could find on the old oak NSE sets. do you think i can find that info now? No chance, but im convinced ive got it somewhere uin the loft.

Currently the only reference ive got is the actual models themselves that i created at the time.

One day hopefully it will turn up!
