Tweezers and the like

Recommended Posts

I am a real believer that buying cheap tools is false economy. You only need one or two types. Type AA - straight and type 7 - curved are really all I use, although I do have several others.

I have to agree. I have far too many cheap tools and with some exceptions- I find having lots of cheapish spring clamps useful- they are usually a complete waste of money. A few years ago one of the low cost supermarkets were selling boxed sets of craft knives and blades for a very low price- a fiver I think with dozens of blades in each. I bought three of them thinking they'd last me for years. Well they probably will last for very many years because after using them a couple of times they've gone to the back of the garage shelf while I've gone back to Xacto. And the less said about the bench vice with the non-parallel jaws the better. Oh well.

What I have found really useful (and cheap) from the make-up counter are those bundles of emery boards. They do get used a lot and rarely for finger nails.
