Steam on the Levels 2011 - Westonzoyland Pumping Station, Nr Bridgwater, Somerset on the 4th - 5th of June 2011.

To celebrate the museums Easton Amos Steam Land Drainage Machine reaching its 150th Birthday we are holding a special steam rally in its honour.

Of interest to members of the forum is the 2' Narrow Gauge Railway on the site. We have two locomotives, a lister railtruck from Fissons Peat works on the Somerset levels, and a Simplex locomotive from a sewage plant. These are used to move hudson and other type wagons with timber fuel from the stock pile to the back of the Marshall Boiler that provides steam for the 25+ stationary steam engines in the museum.

On the 4th & 5th special weekend, our two locomotive will be joined by a third. The lister railtruck from the Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust will be running up and down the line shunting wagons etc and will be seen double heading with our own lister of the same type.

For more information on the event, opening times and other special exhibits visit the Steam on the Levels webpage at www.wzlet.org/150.htm

If you have any questions email me at jason.keswick@wzlet.org

Thanks
