Kickstart
Hi I have a Coopercraft GWR loco coal wagon kit to build and need to source some wheels / bearings. Intending to use Slaters wheels (and I need to order some for something else as well). Which wheels would be suitable? My guess would be the 3'1" 8 Plain Spoke (Wagon). Poggy1165
Yes I think that's correct. Most GW wagons had solid spokes of 3' 1" or 3' 2" diameter - per A History Of GWR Goods Wagons. Alternate suppliers are Alan Gibson (good because pre-blackened) and Haywood Railways - also good, but strangely reluctant to supply me with a price list. Oh, and Peco. These makes don't have interchangeable bearings so you have to (generally) use the bearings supplied by the same company as the wheel. Never had any trouble with any of these makes. Kickstart
Hi Thank you. Will order some. Need some wheels for a Connoisseur kit (an attempt as learning to solder) as well which lists a set of Slaters wheels and bearings.
