RMweb Gold martin_wynne Posted May 23, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 23, 2011 Several members of the Templot Club support forum are now helping me to test and develop the next version of Templot. In return for your help you get early access to the Templot Development Version (TDV), which now includes irregular diamond-crossings. This makes it much easier to design curved double-junctions and similar formations. TDV is still very much an unfinished work-in-progress, but with your help and feedback it could be finished that much sooner. If you are an established Templot user and a member of Templot Club, why not take a look: http://85a.co.uk/forum/view_topic.php?id=1510&forum_id=1 Many thanks to those members who are already helping me. 10800
Sounds just the job for Lewes, Martin - I may take you up on this when I have time to do it justice and be able to provide feedback.
RMweb Gold martin_wynne Posted June 20, 2011 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted June 20, 2011 Here's an example of the new real > platforms... function in the Templot Development Version (TDV). This is the workpad view. Several templates have had platforms added. The widths have been adjusted and some of the edges have been set not to show in the final output (they then show dotted on the pad). The template order has been set so that the platforms overlay each other in the required sequence: I then used the new output > export a file... function to create a large PNG image file, 6000 dots wide. The tracks are drawn in the new output > diagram mode style instead of detailed templates. This is just a small part of it: Then in a graphics editor program such as PaintShoPro, I resized it to 900 dots wide, with this neat result: These image files from Templot can be opened in any graphics/drawing program to have the full details of your layout added. And when it's ready, you will be able to do the same thing in Templot's own new sketchboard function with the added advantage of instant updating of the track plan. So you now have the choice of detailed construction templates, or a neat layout plan for display, and you can swap between them as you wish. If you are not yet a member of the development group on Templot Club and you would like to try out these new features and help me to test them, see: http://85a.co.uk/for...1510&forum_id=1 You also get the chance to create and use irregular diamond-crossing templates. regards, Martin.
