HealeyMills
Last Easter was a 50 year celebration of the Deltics, held at the East Lancs Railway. Sadly, I was only able to make the Friday but it was a great day out and rekindled many happy memories: It would be nice to be able to find out when all the other preserved deltics are running so I could visit those too. Cheers Lee (Mod - Hope I don't get into trouble for posting my pics here)
Andy Y
(Mod - Hope I don't get into trouble for posting my pics here) Absolutely no problem; this area's for all things Napier. Sadly I visited on the Tuesday after it was all over.
Jon020
Lee, I intend to add some links to the various websites so that this info is on hand. There are six preserved 22 and 16 you have here. 9, 19, and 15 owned by the DPS (and cab of 8 based at Barrow hill... but 9 and 19 are often out and about elsewhere in the UK (I'll look that up somewhere), 2 at the NRM. So, in order, 2, 9, 16, 19 and 22 are currently running... 22 hauling main line tours... we'll see what happens with 2 now that she's started her engines for the first time in several years. 15 is in overhaul at Barrow Hill. The Easter event at the ELR looked fantastic, Rob M (Deltic 17 on here) sent me some photos and they're on his website too. I live a little to far away to make it for this with Easter family committments in deepest Sussex... but hopefully I'll get up there later in the year for some Napier music. For now I just savour my memories of KingsX to Edinburgh and back on 5th March.. which was superb! Andy... thanks for the comment. I was't sure about posting images on here - we really ought to set up a class 55 gallery... and perhaps we could sort that... but it's nice to see them all here. Sorry you missed the napiers at the best - as did I. Next time maybe. Jon
