GreenDiesel001
Hi. I am unsure whether this is the correct forum to post this topic however no doubt it will be directed to the correct area and I hope my terminology is correct. On a couple of my Peco short radius points I am having wagon derailments caused when wheels drop between the toe (the moving rail) of the point and the cut away rail on the opposite side. Upon measuring between these it is as wide as 17.0 to 17.15mm I have a wheel gauge with which I check the inside wheel width, it measures 14.4 to 14.85mm. Has any other member found this and have they been able to stop the wheels falling in please? I am using a variety of wheel types and it doesn't happens on all of my wagons. Thanks, Jeff
mobi323
I think you should check the back to back measurements of your wheels. This is the measurement between the insides of the flanges of the wheels. I have found that 14.4mm works best on my layout. But it may be that the actual measurement is not as critical as that they should be consistent.
