Fordy_SVMRC
I have just recently got my layout and loco's out of storage after 3 years what should I do about checking/servicing/lubricating them?
bertiedog
Just dust with a vacumn and a spot of modern silicon oil on the bearings, both wheels, and motor, if accessible , not "three in one" oil if there is plastic or paint nearby the bearings. Also a spot of silicon grease on gears, clean any really grotty exposed gears first with some cleaner, but if reasonable just add a dash of grease. Do not over do the oiling, too much will spread badly, test run gently after cleaning the wheels, and then use. The pickups behind the wheels may need a clean, slide paper or thin card through the gap, and polish them clean. Stephen
