Donny4472
I see on the KATOUSA website that they are releasing a fresh batch of HO AC4400 locos. Model Junction also have them listed. 1st new release for a while in HO scale. I'm glad they haven't abandoned the HO scene altogether. CP, BNSF & UP versions are being released. I know the body details aren't 100% but are there better running chassis out there? Pre-order going i think. cheers Donny.
AndrewC
I've got 3 of the Kato 4400s and 4 newer Athearn ones. With a bit of running in there is very little difference in drive performance. certainly not £30+ difference. Let's hope Kato have improved the railings and hand rails. I will say their biggest advantage over the Athearn model is the fuel tank speaker enclosure and availability of a direct board replacement for DCC sound with LEDs. J-Lewis
Good to see Kato releasing HO again, I hope they restock their spare parts while they are at it! I've got a 70mac that needs some tlc.
Glorious NSE
I'd quite like them to run the (Metra) Nippon Sharyo bilevels in HO as well, but I have low expectations of that....
Adrian Wintle
The only problem I have with Kato releasing HO stuff is that it distracts them from releasing N stuff... Adrian
Glorious NSE
The distraction doesn't seem a huge problem Adrian, I think this is probably the first HO rolling stock announcement in a couple of years...
