dasatcopthorne
Hi Guys. I'm slowly getting into DCC modern image and have just bought a Class 50 with standard Hornby sound. Comparing it to a 56 with the same standard sound I am finding the following difference. On pulling away, the 50 revs up a bit then moves off. The 56 doesn't rev up but just moves off. Is there a setting to get the 56 to rev up a bit before it move, in the same manner as the 50, please. Cheers Dave Smith
legomanbiffo
Dave, You would normally have an answer faster than this but all of us programmers are trying to get our heads around the new Loksound software at the minute. Unfortunately there is nothing the user can do to make the loco rev up before moving off, it's down to the programming. If the loco features notching you can get around this but not all do. I'm not sure if the Hornby locos have it. At the end of the day it's poor programming in my opinion as locos almost universally rev up before moving off. gridwatcher
I know it is a cop out but dare I hiss the words 'get a reblow' The Howes 50 and 56 both behave far more prototypically than the Hornby offerings. DEad simple. You only send back the 'chip' and returned within a couple of days.
