RMweb Premium cnw6847 Posted August 10, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 10, 2011 After seeing and liking my Dynamis and proto 2000 sound GP9 my dad decided to get a Proto 2000 SW1200. When we tested it we found the sound was quite crackly and not really acceptable. We contacted the supplier and they said it can be a problem and to return it if we like. We have decided to do so. Has anyone else had similar issues with theirs?
gridwatcher
Have you checked whether there is any metallic crud on the speaker by going inside and having a look? More often than not in our experience it will be a track pin, piece of coupling etc etc stuck magnetically to the speaker somewhere!?
RMweb Premium cnw6847 Posted August 11, 2011 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted August 11, 2011 thanks for the reply, we didn't like to take it apart. All we had done was take it out of the box and try. Will make note of your suggestion for future use though, thanks. We sent it back for a refund. I am guessing that they don't usually make a crackly noise which the supplier said sometimes happens with small speakers?
