RMweb Gold Nickey Line Posted August 24, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 24, 2011 Hi all, I'm looking for gifts for my brother's imminent 50th birthday, and as he's interested in railways too, specifically the Midland Region in Herts, Beds and Northants, I thought titles from this range would suit. Does anyone have an opinion of these titles? (Specifically Vols 29, Steam Around the Midland, and 42, 67, Railways of the East Midlands 1 & 2). Available from TransportDiversions.com (but of course the site's down at the mo!) Thanks in advance, Adrian W
Allegheny1600
Hi Adrian, I've got v.42 along with quite a few others and yes! They're great! I find B&R videos to be about as good as it gets in UK vintage railway films, they're very watchable with good sound. Go for it! John E.

RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted December 8, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 8, 2011 Does depend (to a limited extent) on who produced the original film but the good ones are just as Alleghenny 1600 says 'as good as it gets in UK vintage railway films. The ones using Brian Clemens original film are absolutely superb and really show the railway how it was but I only mention them as a particular favourite and as examples I can thoroughly recommend from past purchase (from DCKits at shows as it happens).
