I thought since I get info from you members.

I give you all a heads-up on the station set.

Hope it helps someone in the market for this item....

http://www.bachmannt...&productId=3316

Oh ****there is also a good unboxing vid on Utube...

Pros & Cons:

First , its not assembled as advertised. But assy. isnt hard.

Platforms have a nice texured brick siding and deck is a rough surfaced gray color w/white edging.

All ready to be weathered to your liking!!

Bad news is the height of platforms. Its 25mm. Way above my current roadbed height !!!

My OO coachs steps are below the platform !!

I'm set for Hornby & Bachmann "Ernie' Station platforms which are 19mm high.

I was hoping they'ed use the same molds as the old Bachmann Ernie station set platforms .

Spacing for the inside tracks is appx. 67mm_ _ platform edge to platform edge..

End ramps are not to scale. Will have to add steps for my 'little people' to get on the platforms !

Size of station is 10.5" wide x 26" long x 6.25" high ( See link above )

So you have three platforms overall each 26" long ,, But only_ 45mm wide !!

To compare, Hornby's platforms are appx. 68mm wide !!

The width suprised me, I thought B would use their old Ernie platform molds instead of molding up

a new one ! :unknw_mini:

Cover and support poles and girders are shaped and scaled well enought (for me)

Looks to be easily expandable with additional sets for length or width.

Assembled strength and fit is as good as can be expected with an all plastic product. A+

It does have a bit of little extras ( set has 105 pieces to it! )

18 pre numbered platform number signs that attach to the poles.

12 _hanging_ \ 'Knapford 'sausage' station signs w/fake lamp housing.

( some talented guys might be able to put a bulb in the lamp covers )

Extra platform numbers to stick on signs.

[ sorry, no 9/ 3/4 platform number  ]

So its a mix, some parts are reasonably to scale and other parts are wacked as far as scale,,,,

Thats the Thomas the Tank product coming through I guess.

I don't have to have perfect OO scaling , but I don't like it toy-scale either.

This set a mix of both.

.... work will be needed if you want a little realism or already have the track height

already set like me.

US list is $121.00,,,, best prices I can find in U.S. is in the seventy's.

So what U.K. prices will be = ?????

Expensive ?? Isn't all this train stuff !

It is tempting to buy another set so I can have a three platform'ed station appx.50" long

for my average engine/3-4 cars train consists !!!!!.

I'm not talented enough to make covered platforms to my liking....

And compairing Apples to Apples, it does seem it would cost more for a Hornby or Peco Covered

Station platform setup of the same size ?!

So there ya go sports-fans...

Hope info helps ...

Howard
