coachmann
I have received a heads up from fellow RMweb member Derekem8 that EFE have released their wartime utility double deck bus in SHMD dark green livery. For those not in the know, SHMD stood for Stalybridge, Hyde, Mossley & Duckinfield (Joint Board). Might interest Andy Y.... The only pity is the manufacturer chose to base their model on the buses 190-193 with Massey bodywork, which looks nothing like EFE's Park Royal body. It is innexplicable that they failed to model the Brush bodied example No.197 that resembled the model! I rode on these buses quite regularly as a lad and I seem to remember they had upholstrered seats, unlike the wooden seats on the nearly Ashton-U-Lyne utilities. http://www.ehattons.....aspx?SID=46731
Andy Y
Might interest Andy Y.... Indeed Larry; that'll be a stocking filler for Dad sorted then. Thank you!
SRman
The full SHMD title was probably the longest name for any bus company, ever!!!
