London Road Models will have the first small batch of new LNWR 42' non-corridor carriages at Scaleforum. There are four different brake versions on bogie underframes, to complement the other seven 42' carriages that have been available for some time. The Diagrams covered are;

D352 – Four compartment Brake Third, with the van section at the end of the carriage. Available in both the early version with windows in the brake section or the later version with fully panelled brake section. A total of twenty four were built from 1892, the last was withdrawn in 1951.

D330 – Three compartment Lavatory Brake Third, with centre brake compartment. A one off conversion in 1912 from D227 Brake Composite to provide a larger van space.

D354 – Four compartment Brake Third or Brake Composite, with centre brake compartment. Introduced from 1985, fifty were built as Brake Composites and a further nine as Brake Thirds, they lasted until 1935.

The kits are etched in brass, with cast white metal bogie, underframe and roof fittings, with a vacuum formed plasticard roof, priced at £36.00 (plus £2.00 P&P if purchased by mail order).

John Redrup also hopes to have some of the renowned LRM Resistance Soldering Units available at Scaleforum at Leatherhead on 24/25 September (provided he receives some crucial components in time to assemble them!). If you are interested in one of these effective and useful etched kit building tools, call at Stand 20 by the main entrance for a chat.
