I am using code 40 from the 2mmFS shop, I have brought a pair of roller gauges but I feel these are designed for code 30 rail. Can any one recommend where I can get a new set turned to code 4o standards? Ideally I would get extras done to sell in my Nn3 product range. The 2mmFS ones also have an area filled down to help around the frog section, any assistance much appreciated. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Weekday Cross Posted October 6, 2011 Share Posted October 6, 2011 I did some experimental gauges by adapting the 2mm FS gauges in the lathe. I drilled a hole through the middle to fit a piece of rod I had in stock. I then cut the gauge in half and finished each end to be just on the distance required for 6.5mm gauge. I then stuck everything together with Araldite, making sure the distance between slots was correct first. Worked a treat. I found using Z gauge chassis that 6.6mm gauge works better than 6.5. If you want to mass produce them, this may not be an option. Incidentally, C&L sell code 40 with roughly the same head width if anyone doesn't want to join the 2mm SA.
