Sam '43003' Tanner
Hi all. No plan to show you I'm still working on that, but how about something different in the form of traction..? Seen here is an image of a Type No.27A Wickham Railcar designed for 16mm/1ft, or 32mm Narrow Gauge.. http://www.pps-steam-models.co.uk/pjm/wickham.htm Now, this is also produced in 7mm scale from 'N' Brass Locomotives and available through Mercian Models.. http://www.modelrailways.tv/standard_gauge/wagons.htm (bottom of the page). For a small space 7mm layout with some tight radius turnout's and curves, I think a couple of these would look really good. The thought process behind this unusual form of passenger transport is that along the same vein of many great light railways, fund's were always tight. A possible formation could be Railcar - Trailer - Railcar, with the trailer carrying local supplies and some small good's traffic. I'll get doodling, but for now, anyone fancy a discussion on this? Etched Pixels
I believe the Alderney railway operated something like this formation Indeed. For the rivet counters it appears you can cite: http://johnlawontherails.fotopic.net/p36243620.html There are some other gems there too including a wickham converted into a sand blower !
