RMweb Premium Mike Bellamy Posted October 19, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 19, 2011 Very sorry to hear about the damage to Stanier Third Open owned by the LMS Carriage Association. Report from local newspaper here http://www.thisisder...tail/story.html and the EVRA website here http://wyvernrail.bl...tober-2011.html Mike
coachmann
I sincerely hope this is not LMS open third 27162, which was nearing completion following a 'fast-track' refurbishment of the frame and bodywork and after folk subscibed to having new seats built....? DavidH
Unless they are restoring two LMS coaches, sadly, that would be my conclusion from both reports.
coachmann
I think the LMSCA also has Stanier designed 27109 open third.
Boris
Our C&W shop has someone on duty for an hour after everybody else has gone home just in case something like this does happen. Obviously this does preclude folks beavering away into the night, but as this isn't the first time this has happened on a preserved railway, it has got to be preferable than seeing all your hard work go up in smoke.
