Anyone out and about on the Transcon this weekend?

cheers chaps! not as far as winona - unless its worth going to see?

 

rte 66 is as good as you would imagine... got up at 4am this morning to see the sunrise at Shawmut. It was cloudy! lol. Quite a few trains tho, although my batteries ran out...

 

One downhill train had an SD70 on point which was making the most unearthly howling noise, it sounded like a low flying aircraft and I've never heard anything quite so spine tingling. Must have had a fault...

Norfolk Southern SD70s with dynamic brakes howl like something from the gates of hades. I've been told that's normal for them.
