Coldgunner
I had a bit of an accident earlier and got super glue on the side of my Bachmann 5MT tender, whats the best method for removing it? I've tried soapy water so far but the stubborn area won't go.
Guest oldlugger
Sadly, I think once you remove the glue you will be stuck with a mark or a patch of removed paint. Bar a complete strip down and a repaint, I would weather up the tender and include the affected area as part of the weathering process; I've had to do this in the past with some rather pleasing results. Alternatively you could make sure all the glue has been removed and cleaned up with very fine wet and dry, then paint a small patch of black or green (depending on your livery) over the affected area, let it dry and smooth it very carefully with fine wet and dry. Then clear or matt varnish the whole tender body. That might hide it, because it is a similar procedure to applying transfers; painting a small patch of gloss paint to stick the transfer to and then varnishing the whole body to disguise the new patch of paint. Cheers Simon
