Catkins
Hi, and welcome to the first post on this thread, hopefully it will be as interesting and varied as Jim S-W's thread. I hope it's alright to provide a like to Jim's thread - http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/6104-jim-s-ws-road-vehicles-thread/ - it is through jim's thread and others posting that I have been inspired to kick-start my vehicle modelling again. I welcome all and any input that people might wish to put in, and if anyone wishes to post their own work on here, they are welcome to do so, it's as much you as I that make this thread. :clapping:
Catkins
I've got a Ford Consul / Granada mark 1, and a couple of Escort mark 3s, looking at the two together, the Granada is longer and wider, but IIRC on the mark 2 Granada the rear of the roof was more angled than the mark 1. I am ready and willing to cut the front, just in front of the wheel arches, off the consul and cut off the rear, but at an angle to keep the fuel filler flap on the Consul. With the Escort I will cut the same sections from the front and rear, but I will the split them down the centre line to widen them, and hopefully the parts will match up to make the Granada mark 2. Catkins
UPDATE on the lack of progress, The Consul body is screwed to the base plate, and after two days in an acetone bath, the paint is still not shifting!! I might just get a little bit involved in removing the paint.
