spenc
Hi everybody Late 2009 i started doing this layout i was limited on the size of layout i could have so it was 10ftx1ft.it is a fictional layout somewhere on the southern region set in the 1980-1990 era.it used to be a through station but was cut back in the 60's and only survived because freight still use the line. The station is reduced to one platform which is now the terminus with a stabling yard for freight engines.the layout is 3rd rail dcc sound. Now the boss as given me the go ahead to extend with a extra 4ft i have started putting a run round loop and small siding to serve the new nuclear power station at spenford. Here are some pictures of the layout with new board track layed tested to make sure every thing fits. any comments welcome steve
puck
Wot. No 73's? I like the style of layout; Southern and fairly simple. More power to the humble M.U.
pitbull1845
Hi Steve, Looks like a nice manageable layout, I especially like the station building. Well done on getting the planning permission through! Funny, I was thinking the same about 73's puck, I've got a picture of a 73 on its way back from Winfrith with a nuclear flask train which would fit in just right on here. Nice collection of 33's... Interested to watch the nuclear PS develop. Scott

So its going to be a transfer siding then.. I've got a couple of pictures of one if you need them thats in a rural setting if you want inspiration. Arpleymodeller
The ground cover looks very realistic, is it Woodland Scenics field grass? The nuclear flask terminal is a good use of the space, I havent seen this operation modelled often. Regards Lewis
