vulcanbomber
I learnt the to keep the track clean, one thing is not to run locos with Traction Tyres I went to purchase a new loco and at the last moment discovered it had traction tyres, so fortunatly it wasn't brought. However if buying over the web it's any easy trap to fall into, since the manufacturers don't allways tell you the loco has traction tyres. I was wondering if it was worth maintaining a list of affected locos? Silver Sidelines
Good evening, my Hornby ex GWR rail car (BR Green) does NOT have traction tyres. Some do and some don't - looking at the Hornby Service sheet seems it is a bit of a lottery. Regards Ray
Sam Moss
Seriously can't see all the fuss over traction tyres. Aslong as the tyre itself and the track is clean then I can't see a problem. Its inevitable that some loco's are going to have them fitted. I'd rather have a loco with tyres than one I have to mess around filling with lead to get it to pull anything. I'd much rather spend a bit of time cleaning than to not buy models I would like just because they have traction tyres.
Guest 40-something
I've not had any real problems with traction tyres apart from them wearing out. I would rather not have them but they can be very usual for grip and if a new loco has them, it wont stop me buying it if its a loco Im after.
