Dapol catenary

Hi all,

 

Before I left the UK, Dapol had just released their wonderful low cost high quality catenary masts, with the promise of wiring to follow. Did this ever happen?

 

Presuming it hasn't, has anyone a pointer on what the best catenary option is?

I think Dapol are having problems getting it working, so it has not been introduced as yet. The best low cost working catenary available at present is HObbex. Get the H section masts, which are a slightly overscale even for 00 in order to be strong enough to do the job properly, but they are cheap and easy to assemble.

It is of European outline - the cantilevers are OK for UK, but the multi track Headspans have a very different style of insulator. But if you want cheap and works well thats a compromise you may have to make.

It is a pity that so far there is not a decent cost effective working Catenary system available for the UK. Peco were going to do something but bottled out when Dapol released their masts.
