edward66 Posted January 11, 2012 Share Posted January 11, 2012 I just came upon a group of several BT films from the early to mid 50s [plus a short one on the Midland Pullman] under the title "Work in Progress & other BT films" It lasts for about an hour and a half and has about 5 films on it. Some of the subjects include cutting the Woodhead tunnel, Whitemoor marshalling yard [with ex-PO wagons], servicing 73020 in great detail, electrification of an ex-GE line from London to the east coast plus other transportation including a section on British Road Services [excellent shots of old trucks with 20MPH ovals on the back], cross channel ferries, a bit on canals etc. etc. Wonderful naustalgic stuff for some of us of"a certain age". From a modelling point of view there is a huge amount of intersting stuff in these films, I can't recommend them too highly. I will make a posting on the PO wagons questions topic too.
