justin1985
I just bought one of these quite cheaply to replace my 1980s Hornby trainset controller for testing N gauge locos before DCCing them. The catch, however, was that the track connection cable is missing. It looks like its a standard two-contact 3.5mm headphone connector, is this correct? I'm happy to pick up the correct connector from Maplin and splice onto a cable. Cheers Justin
Sam Moss
Yes, you are correct
Butler Henderson
Its a stereo rather than mono connection, you have to be careful with the contacts made as I know from bitter experience that the "unused" one puts out ac onto the track (unless the internal circuity has altered). justin1985
Many thanks - I'll pop into Maplin tomorrow. I think the one I got on eBay is quite old, by the look of it. It has large plastic push clips for the AC output, rather than another socket. I guess this is an older rather than newer design. Thanks for the help!
