Ohmisterporter
I spotted this on the Gn15 website and though it may be of interest to our members here. I think there is at least one of these Chinese 0-8-0s awaiting restoration in the UK.

Hobby
Shame they are going to regauge it, it would look nice on the Welshpool... Perhaps the Welshpool should get one of the locos the Chinese copied the design off, the Polish Px48, to replace the Resita?!

Perhaps the Welshpool should get one of the locos the Chinese copied the design off, the Polish Px48, to replace the Resita?! I think the Chinese C2 has its origins more in the various Russian 0-8-0 variants (which tended to be classified by country of origin/builder, see examples here: http://www.internationalsteam.co.uk/trains/lithuania01.htm) than the Px48s, some of which were supplied to China. Hobby
You're quite right, I was mixing the C2 and C4 classes up, Keith Chester's book suggests that the C4 is based rather closely on the Px48 and that there is some connection with the C2 and Russian locos! I wonder if the Chinese will ever "come clean" where their designs did come from!
