Mike Oliver Posted February 9, 2012 Share Posted February 9, 2012 In steam days in the North Eastern region some fright trains were designated as Bonus Trains, I understand a bonus was earned if the load was delivered promptly. To move these trains quickly many members of staff including drivers, firemen, guards, shunters and signalmen all played key roles so who got a bonus and was there any resentment if bonuses were not for all involved?
